General Data Protection Regulations 2018 (GDPR)

Under Article 6 of the GDPR, the lawful bases for Barking Cat Pet Photography processing your personal data are (A) that you have given consent and/or, (B) to fulfil a contract with you (e.g. to provide items you've ordered.)

We will process your personal data (e.g. name, contact details and photos of recognisable people) securely and use it only to provide requested services. We will not share it with third parties, except if required for your requested service (e.g. name and address for the lab to post your photos.)

Transaction records will be securely destroyed after 6 years, in line with HMRC guidance. Other personal data (including images) will be destroyed within 3 years of your last request for a service, or sooner if you request by contacting us in writing.

 

Policy on Photographing Children and Young People

1.    Purpose.  This policy is a supplement to the Terms & Conditions and should be read in conjunction with this by parents/carers of young people under 16 who participate in Barking Cat photo sessions. Please pay specific attention to sections 3, 6 and 7.

2.   Agreement.  The form should only be completed and signed (print) or agreed (electronically) when the Terms & Conditions and this policy have been read and fully understood.

3.   Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG).  Barking Cat photographer, Kimberly (Kim) Smith is a member of Disclosure Scotland's PVG scheme for Children & Young People. Please let her know if you wish to see her membership certificate and she can provide this.

4.   Safeguarding.  Barking Cat Pet Photography will take all reasonable steps to promote safety and welfare of children and young people featuring in images on its webaite, social media channels, displays or used for any other purpose. This will include the following:

  • Images with identifiable children or young people under 16 will no include their name, address or any other information that could identify them, near or linked to the images.
  • Only iimages of children and young people fully and appropriately clothed will be used.
  • All images used in digital form will bear a watermark and be low resolution to deter downloading with a notice stating it is illegal to use or alter copyright images.
