Unless otherwise stated in the terms and conditions for provision of photographic services, the following applies to images where license is granted to a customer or third party for use.

Copyright for photographic images remains with the photographer (Kim Smith, Barking Cat Pet Photography) in line with the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.  However, Barking Cat may “license” (i.e. give permission) for others to use images for certain purposes.

Where license is granted, images may be used for non-commercial purposes under Creative Commons License 4.0 Attribution – Non Commercial – No DerivativesThis includes use on social media, website, blog, news media, email or in print. There is no time limit on this license.

The images cannot be altered in any way, apart from modest cropping and light/dark adjustment for the medium.  Watermarks must remain legible.  If watermarks are not present or removed, credit must be cited near the image or prominently referenced elsewhere on the page.  Examples of suitable credit statements include:
