Sunday, 5th June was a busy day for canine activities in Scotland, with dog events in support of charities in Aberdeenshire (Mrs Murray’s Cat & Dog Home), Fife (Hearing Dogs for Deaf People), Glasgow (Dogs Trust) and two in Edinburgh (both for Edinburgh Dog & Cat Home.)
We joined in with Midlothian Dog Training Club (MLDT) to celebrate their 30th anniversary with a fun dog show in Vogrie Park, raising funds for Edinburgh Dog & Cat Home (EDCH) and Guide Dogs Scotland. EDCH asked us to take some snaps on their behalf and we were more than happy to oblige!
On a scorching hot day, hundreds of dogs and people of all shapes, sizes, ages and abilities joined in the fun, with awards including best veteran, puppy, male, female and the giggle-inducing egg and spoon with dog race!
MLDT dog and human teams showcased their incredible agility talents and the Flying Scots flyball team offered a chance for visiting pooches to have a go. Shopping bags were also filled dog toys, treats, gifts and information on various animal welfare charities.
More than £1300 was raised during the afternoon to support the two charities – a fantastic result.
Big thanks to MLDT and especially all of those organising this lovely event filled with happy dogs, happy people and a great result for charity.
